Our Story
Welcome to Dance World, a premier dance studio that has been providing quality dance education to students of all ages and skill levels for over 30 years. Our studio was founded by Doug Newton, a former Australian Professional Latin & Ballroom Champion, and World finalist, who has been dedicated to the arts and dance throughout his life.
In 2018, Dance World underwent a significant change as Shaynie Zieba, a long-time teacher at the studio, took over the leadership of the business. With over 25 years of experience teaching at Dance World, Shaynie brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her new role as owner and director. She has been a passionate and dedicated teacher, who has helped countless students discover and nurture their love of dance. Her students have achieved numerous championships and scholarships, and many have gone on to successful careers in dance. Her background as a registered Royal Academy of Dance teacher, mentor and her ongoing CPD training make her the ideal person to lead Dance World into the future. Under her guidance, Dance World will continue to provide the highest-quality dance education to students of all ages and skill levels, while also fostering a strong sense of community and respect among our dancers.
Shaynie is a registered Royal Academy of Dance teacher and mentor who began teaching to share her joy and love of dance with the next generation of students. Since 1997, Shaynie's students have been awarded many championships and scholarships, they have been finalists at the Isobel Anderson awards, accepted into the Australian Ballet School interstate program, secured ongoing promotional work and secured overseas contracts with Ballet companies. Many students have selected to also teach dance. She specializes in the training and coaching of students undertaking Royal Academy of Dance Graded and Vocational Graded examinations and their preparation prior to auditions for finishing schools and company placement. Shaynie also teaches Contemporary, Lyrical, National Character and Jazz.
Shaynie has choreographed many items for regional dance festivals, Rock Eisteddfod RAW division and various Eisteddfods with great success. She has a passion for dance and choreography that is evident in the unique and dynamic annual concert that she puts together for her students.
